Conozca sobre la trombosis
Healthcare professionals must recognize blood clot risks from head to toe in clinical settings, particularly venous thromboembolism (VTE) including deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). VTE risk assessments should be conducted across all medical specialties for every hospitalized patient, as key risk factors include prolonged immobility, surgery, cancer and certain medications.
Timely VTE risk assessment, prophylaxis and early detection are essential for preventing thrombotic events and reducing patient morbidity.
World Thrombosis Day, led by the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), provides healthcare professionals with up-to-date scientific research, clinical guidelines and preventive strategies. ISTH is the leading thrombosis and hemostasis professional organization worldwide with more than 7,700 members in 100+ countries supporting evidence-based VTE prevention across all medical disciplines.
