The overall impact of the WTD 2024 campaign reached a staggering 4.4 billion people worldwide, demonstrating the vast scale and influence of its efforts.
Recognition from the World Health Organization
In a significant achievement, the WTD campaign was featured on the homepage of the World Health Organization’s Knowledge Action Portal. This recognition reflects the increasing importance of thrombosis awareness in global health efforts and highlights the campaign’s growing influence on the worldwide stage.
Surge in Website Traffic and Engagement
The WTD 2024 campaign saw a 717% increase in website traffic, driven largely by the launch of the WTD Design Hub. This user-friendly platform offered customized social media tools, making raising awareness more accessible for the campaign partners. The campaign also added social media resources in 14 additional languages, extending its reach to an even wider global audience.
Another major highlight was the development of pediatric content. Written by the Scientific Steering Committee, this new content addressed the critical need for education on thrombosis in children, helping to fill a gap in available information.
Partner Events and Disease Awareness Recognition
This year, WTD helped recognize 22 disease awareness days focused on thrombosis-related conditions, broadening understanding of the disease’s impact. The campaign also supported 25,000 partner events across 123 countries, strengthening the global network of advocates, healthcare professionals, and organizations working to raise awareness.
Growth in Social Media Engagement
Across social media platforms, WTD saw a 33% increase in engagement in 2024. This surge in interaction helped the campaign achieve 500 million social media impressions, dramatically expanding its reach and visibility. The increased engagement underscores the growing global interest in thrombosis awareness and education.
The campaign’s achievements this year highlight the power of collaboration and innovation in global health, ensuring that the conversation around thrombosis continues to grow and reach new audiences worldwide.
